I couldn't take my eyes off the words written on the screen. I couldn't help smiling while reading it over and over again. It had even made me put aside another work of Jeffrey Archer - A Twist in the Tale - that I've been reading for the past week. Despite the fact that our (supposedly) first meeting couldn't go on as planned, just hearing from the person I had looked forward to meet just made it up. We have never seen each other face to face; but I can still sense the warmth accompanying the message.
Dear Hamizah,
I do hope this finds you well, in good health and optimistic. I have been thinking about you and imagining how the last couple of months must have been extremely trying, coinciding with the final year of your degree course and all that it entails.
I was extremely touched; probably would've been crying had I not read it in the living room with all my family members around. I have slowly recovered from the hard time moving on from everything that I've been put through for the past months, but it's still an understatement to simply say that the opening of this email had made my day.
"...It looks as though your trip to Crete on June 23rd this year is beset with obstacles that make it impractical. But I would welcome your coming next year if that alternative is feasible..."
The intro of the email; just simply knowing that someone cares, was actually more than enough to make me endure forbearance and feel more motivated about anticipating new beginnings. Nevertheless, if God wills it, if He permits extra time and expense, then I shall look forward to seeing a new family in summer next year. Until then, God knows what's next :)

"I was beginning to be worried about you... If you are still going to be in the UK for postgraduate study we may be able to arrange to meet. I usually get over to London for a few days around the end of the year..."
"Please keep in touch!"
Endlessly thoughtful.
(Be right back crying 😂)

Appreciate and spread kind gestures; simple acts of kindness can mean a lot, even so in this trying time :)
